Having a stammer or stutter can affect a persons life in many ways. It can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety, many a sleepless night and can erode ones confidence. How do I know this? Well I am somebody who had to live with this form of speech impediment for eighteen years. In this article I am going to be writing about how the stutter affected my life.

Self talk is what is known as our inner voice or dialogue. Yes, we all talk to ourselves even though we mightnt like to admit to it. And no, were not mad. Maybe we dont usually do it out loud for everyone to hear but internally, we are constantly telling ourselves how to feel and act. Sometimes we are aware of it, and other times, we are not. This is what makes negative self-talk so detrimental to our mental well-being and what makes positive self-talk so crucial to our success.

It is the start of a new year, 2008, a time when people make resolutions in an attempt at improving their lives. Some people start a diet, some people try to quit smoking, some people decide to commence saving money and others decide to stop drinking alcohol. All of these require great determination and will power to succeed. In the case of alcohol it also takes a great deal of courage or as some people call it, bottle. Does your child have problems with controlling their anger? Are you looking into the different forms of anger management treatment and therapy? Are you becoming stressed and tired by the emotional burden that associates having a teenager with anger management issues? I would have answered yes to all of these questions a few months ago, I have a daughter who is thirteen years of age, to say she had difficulty controlling her anger would be an understatement.
